I hereby present to you the third & final installment of what is quite possibly my longest blog ever. I tried to include some fun visuals throughout the post to keep you all entertained, so I really hope you enjoy the hard work I’ve put into all of this. I’m going to shut up now because I’m pretty sure you’d rather read about some entertainment news and not my babbling, so on your mark… get set… GO!
Are you a fan of dancing and/or SYTYCD? If you said yes, then you’ll probably want to check out this link. It’s basically videos from most of the top 10 dancers from the American and Canadian versions of the show… that’s about 75 dancers! Thanks to GMMR for that link! If you’re like me and watched this season rooting for Legacy (& a few others
), he’s created a website, so you might want to keep checking back here for it’s official launch! Unfortunately, according to this E! post, it doesn’t look like there will be a season 6 tour. Yikes… it seems like the producers really schruted it this season.

Now for some funny. If you love improv, (and really, I’d like to find someone who doesn’t) then Second City shouldn’t be a foreign term to you. Well, they celebrated their 50th anniversary recently and had tons of now-famous alumni back to perform. Since none of us were there, you can do what I did & read about it here and wish you had been there instead. Speaking of, one of Second City’s MANY famous alumni, Stephen Colbert, recently surprised his Colbert Report audience (in the studio & at home) by joining his guest Alicia Keys in a rendition of the song I’m mildly obsessed with, “Empire State of Mind”. You didn’t think Entertainment Weekly would let that go by without a dedicated post, did you? Check that out here. So great.
My friend Maelle started her own blog and it’s awesome! Why is it so awesome, you ask? Well, instead of babbling & including links & whatnot (like someone ELSE I know), she is a fantastic artist and her blogs are in drawn comic form! Seriously, people… SO COOL. I don’t even know if that’s the correct way to describe them, but check it out here & pick a term for yourself! Great job, Maelle!

TV Guide was kind enough to provide us with some answered viewer questions in their “Mega Buzz” post. Just as a warning, these are the shows they discuss (and probably give away spoilers for) IN ORDER: Grey’s Anatomy, 24, Southland, Chuck, NCIS: LA, Gossip Girl, Criminal Minds, Big Love, Dexter, Desperate Housewives, The Closer & 90210. Whew. Done-zo. If you’re still interested, click here for the goodies.
Since we’re on the topic of Big Love (um… sort of), this might be of interest to you fellow fans. Did someone say SEASON 4?!?! Check this out:
Now that that’s hopefully got you all pumped up (I know it worked for me), I have some sort of sad casting news. Someone’s leaving us and if you want to know who it is, you can hover over this link and click on it for the details. Sorry the name’s revealed in the link address; I don’t know how to fix that, but if I learn, it shall be done.
In other HBO news, Ricky Gervais is coming back, people and he’s animated! You heard/read me right! Check out this link for the details on his new show. You can also see what it’ll look like here, hehe.

Since we’re showing sneak peek pics (say that 3 times fast!), let’s keep the theme going with new promotional posters for two Showtime hits both starting their second seasons in the new year. Premiering March 22nd at 10 PM, we have Nurse Jackie:

Crazy & terrific show. Unfortunately, they’ve apparently let go one of their cast members from the first season, but maybe they’ll appear again in the future. Doubtful, yes, but not impossible. You’ve gotta stay positive here, people! Next up, we have United States of Tara, which will follow Nurse Jackie on March 22nd airing at 10:30 PM.

Welcome to the part of my blog I like to call “This Is A Great Show More People Should Watch”. Today’s edition features a new ABC comedy called The Middle. I love it for many reasons (the youngest brother Brick might be up towards the top), but this little write-up Entertainment Weekly did for it pretty much describes my feelings to a tee. One thing they didn’t mention is how it’s RIDICULOUSLY & borderline EMBARRASSINGLY relatable. I mean, to me anyway. I fear that it will get forgotten on the same night as Cougar Town & Modern Family (other new shows I love), BUT if my dreams came true, ABC would sneak Scrubs in there for an AREN’T-OUR-COMEDIES-FREAKIN-AMAZING? kind of night. Yes, ABC; you heard me. Scrubs, The Middle, Cougar Town & Modern Family. Done and done.
While we’re talking about Modern Family, let’s see what their producers, 20th Century Fox, have in store for us for the holidays, shall we? Click here for a fun holiday card in the spirit of Modern Family.
Now, if you love Scrubs like I do, you might be interested to read Part One and Part Two of The TV Addict‘s interview with Bill Lawrence, the creator. Bonus? He’s also the creator of Cougar Town, so that’s discussed as well. TV Guide also interviewed him, so you can check that out here. Then we have this article claiming that ABC is burning off the remaining episodes of the show. However, the Twitter account for ScrubsWriters posted this the other day: “Stay tuned for details regarding our air dates. Things are not as dire as previously reported…” So let’s keep our fingers crossed for one of my favorite shows ever.
Thanks, super speedy Jim!
Gilmore Girls-related item of the day: Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) is coming to NBC for a multi-episode arc on Mercy. This means she might possibly be on NBC the same time as Lauren Graham, who will be starring in Parenthood. Ahem
Thanks to Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly for all of that informational goodness.
Let’s also thank Mr. Entertainment Weekly for another edition of his spoiler-fest he likes to call Ask Ausiello. Here’s a list of the shows mentioned IN ORDER in case you want to skip around: NCIS, Bones, Grey’s Anatomy, House, True Blood, Big Love, Parks & Recreation, Numb3rs, Lie To Me, The Mentalist, Castle, Friday Night Lights, Glee, HIMYM, Spartacus, Gossip Girl, 24, Dollhouse, & Lost. Damn, Michael- SOMEONE’S an over-achiever
P.S. I kind of amuse myself with the fact that I’m talking to someone who will never read this. Oh yeah, click here to get to the actual link!
More Ausiello, you say? You got it! Only click the following link if you want spoilery pieces on these shows (again, IN ORDER): True Blood, Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice, Bones, Chuck, Friday Night Lights, House, Gossip Girl, Burn Notice, Glee, Nurse Jackie, Drop Dead Diva, 24, Medium, Castle, Big Love, HIMYM. I’m telling you… this guy is a machine!! (And I’ve been slacking on the posting. Obviously.) Ugh, you want the link too? Needy. I keeeed.
This is very random and equally exciting bit of news for a girl who loves her glasses (which I do). Lisa Loeb has decided to launch her own line of eyewear. Score. Let’s just say I’d rather buy more glass frames than pieces of jewelry. Sorry women of my family… maybe over time, that will change but I don’t see it happening any time soon.

Yay for TV Guide for recognizing my favorite people/shows in their Best of 2009! Check out one of the Best Performances here and one of the Top Moments here. Bravo, TV Guide. I salute you. (Again; it’s fun to talk to people who don’t know I exist, hehe)
Now… not to steal TV Guide‘s thunder… BUT HitFix actually named The Office as one of the best of the decade. Plus, the author of that post happened to write an extremely thought out and in my opinion, extremely well done piece. Apparently, when people are paid to write in blogs, they can’t just throw a pretty moving picture up there to prove their point… huh. Good to know
Thanks to a friend for that HitFix article.
I know what you’re thinking. You want more Office and lucky for you, I can provide just that. BuddyTV has provided us with a list of things to look forward to on the show in 2010, so click here to find out.
Hungry for more “end of year-ness”? The TV Addict has provided us with his list of the “Top 10 TV Shows of 2009″ and while he cheated a bit IMO (#8 is the entire NBC Thursday night comedy line-up & #7 is the Daily Show/Colbert Report duo), the guy’s got taste. I know, I know… he doesn’t know I exist… this is a fun game. I have to say that besides being a fan of his previous-mentioned #8 (w/ the exception of Community) & #7, I also happen to be a huge fan of his #10, #4, #3 & #1. I can’t spill ALL of his secrets, people- you have to go to his link for the details!
Now for some “who knows if this is true, but I never claimed to be the AP” news: According to this article, Taylor Swift is rumored to be in the running to play Supergirl in the movies. I’m all about The Swift, so it’s going in the blog! Some news I can tell you about that is a little more reliable (read: a lot more reliable) is that she’s been invited to present and perform at this year’s Grammys! Boys?
I know how you feel.
Andddddd did someone say Arrested Development, the movie??!?! Um, yes please! Michael Cera says it will probably film in 2010. So yeah… um… I’ll keep you updated.
So, as this ridiculously long post comes to a close, I needed to share this with you. It has cursing, but not a crazy amount, so take that for what it’s worth. It’s basically just a clip of a really funny comedian, Amy Schumer, dealing with a heckler in her audience.
Bonus info? Amy came onto the scene as the last girl remaining during her season of Last Comic Standing and then went on to make my stomach hurt from laughter on the Comedy Central series, Reality Bites Back. We also happen to be alumni of the same college, so extra points for her.
Lastly, we have a final tidbit for my fellow nerds. Of course, by “we”, I mean “I”. I have a final link and it has to do with social media. Hey- I said it was nerdy. Click here to learn Ten Ways Social Media Will Change in 2010. I’ll be honest… I definitely did not understand everything I read there, but overall, it had some very interesting information. You do have a dictionary handy, right?

Whew… and I do mean whew. This post took me FOR-E-VER/The Sandlot. It was well worth it though because now I don’t have it weighing on my mind and you have lots to read for the next few days! I hope everyone’s enjoying their holiday season and continues to do so throughout the new year. I leave you with one of my new favorite gifs that just so happened to be a part of the producer’s cut of the last new episode of The Office. Happy Holidays everyone!!
