Okay, so here’s the deal. I used to watch “Run’s House” on MTV… and I enjoyed it. One of my favorite parts was when at the end of each episode, Rev Run would give thoughts on the day (or basically, what happened in that episode) and relate it to something positive. He’d also be typing these “thoughts” on his Blackberry while soaking in his bathtub, which I thought was odd, but to each his own, I guess.
Anyway, I had heard once that Oprah’s Gayle (yes, I know I should call her Gayle King, but you probably wouldn’t know who I was talking about) was an online subscriber to “Rev Run’s Words of Wisdom” and I realized I wanted in. So, I signed up and now every day I get an e-mail from the Rev himself. Okay, okay- I know the e-mail also goes to about, a bazillion people but I’ve kept a few over the years that I really enjoyed and I wanted to share them with you (and get them out of my “saved” folder).
Please keep in mind: These are only the ones I kept for one reason or another. Obviously, if he’s writing them every day, they’re going to have a lot of different ones that relate to a lot of different people. Personally? I don’t love the ones geared toward religion, but they come once in a blue moon. I honestly feel like everyone can benefit from reading these because they’re just plain ol’ positive messages. Enjoy! Oh- and if you have any positive messages or quotes or whatever that you’d like to share, that’s what the comments are for! I’ll post some of my favorite quotes in another blog probably… this one is reserved for Rev Run. And we begin:
Good morning. The difference between success and failure is information. If you sincerely want to succeed in life I suggest two things, the acquisition of knowledge and determination. Study those who are successful and do what they do. It’s very simple: The key is mentorship. If you can follow in the footsteps of winners you too can win!
Sometimes we must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope…. – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Good morning. There was a little boy named Steven who once asked a wise old man what it took to be successful. The wise old man picked Steven up by the scruff of his neck and dunked him, head first, into a barrel filled with water. Steven was kicking and squirming with all he had, but the wise old man just kept him under water. After holding young Steven there for several minutes, and mere seconds before Steven passed out, the wise old man released his hold on the young boy. As Steven began to catch his breath, he said, “ Hey, why did you go and do that? You must be out of your mind you could have killed me.” The wise old man just laughed and said, “You asked me what it took to be successful? Well what was the one thing you wanted more than anything else when you were underwater? Young Steven said, “I wanted AIR!!” The wise old man said, Steven when you want SUCCESS just as much as you wanted that air, you’ll have it.” (Question? How bad do you want success?)
Good morning. When there are ten buyers and only three puppies, every dog is the pick of the litter!! There’s only one YOU… People need what YOU have… Put your unique qualities on display… People will pay you for it… People will honor you for it… Take it from the dude who sits in a tub filled with bubbles writing words of wisdom… Lol
Good morning. “Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires avid faith in yourself. That is why some people with mediocre talent, but with the inner drive, go much farther than people with vastly superior talent” –Sophia Loren

Good morning. Monotony is a RAPID AGER. The mind grows stale very quickly under a monotonous life, a humdrum existence. Lack of growth, of interest, of change is fatal!!.. People who live the same kind of life year in and year out age rapidly. (Remember) The shriveling up process, the wrinkles, all appear in the mind first. Keep changing. Stay fresh, Stay excited….
